I had a similar broccoli salad a ladies event recently. It was the BEST broccoli salad I've ever had. It had bacon, so how could it not be good. =) I'm pinning so I will remember to try this.

ReplyDeleteNothing clean or healthy about bacon! Omit that and it sounds great.

DeleteWhy? You don't save many calories and it doesn't have the same flavor and crunch.
Deletecan't wait to try this. Always looking great food to try.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS! <3 Nothing better than bacon :)
ReplyDeleteI use dried cranberries instead of raisins... I love this salad!
ReplyDeleteSo glad all of you are enjoying this!
ReplyDeleteyou don't cook the broccoli? You eat it raw? It sounds delicious, greetings from the netherlands :-)

ReplyDeleteThis is a great recipe...I have also put white grapes cut in half, dried cranberries. I also use the begged brocoli slaw it is great and makes it go further for a pot luck.
ReplyDeleteMade this tonight and 4 out of 5 family members loved it and it takes getting creative for them to eat broccoli. My son groaned but ate his portion, he couldn't handle the red onions and the bacon gave it the kick it needed for my kids to dive in. We omitted the raisins.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if turkey bacon would taste good!
ReplyDeleteThis is really good with a little bit of cauliflower added to the broccoli.

ReplyDeleteI've made this but used the Vidalia Onion dressing as the sauce. Delicious either way!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. This looks like the same salad that our local Whole Foods sells and as you can guess quite expensive. Great to have the recipe! And I can leave out the red onions that I usually pick out. :o)
ReplyDeleteOnly thing I change was that I substituted the sunflower seeds to roasted sliced almonds. It tasted amazing Thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteI love this salad!! This is a family favorite, even my 2 year old LOVEs it. My recipe is just slight different,I use Craisins (dried cranberries) instead of raisins

I LOVE raisins but I hate them in things. I'm not a fan of bacon either, but Target has a salad like this w/ bacon in it and it's amazing. I'm hoping it's like their recipe because its' perfect! They also have shreded cheddar cheese in theirs. I will omit the raisins and add the cheese! Can't wait to try :)
ReplyDeleteApple cider vinegar also works well and I love it with the dried cranberries also!
ReplyDeletei have a similar recipe too. no raisins and add mushroom and no honey.
ReplyDeleteI have a similar recipe but with a lot more bulk to it...we use broccoli (of course), bacon, red onion, edamame beans, tortellini, box of small pasta shells, chunks of cheddar and the dressing is almost the same (mayo, vinegar and sugar)...it's usually gone within minutes!!!! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI make a similar recipe but use fruit vinegar instead of regular vinegar, and cashews instead of sunflower seeds. I also add sugar to the mayonaise, instead the the honey. I will have to try some of the other suggestions that all sound so yummy!
ReplyDeleteDo you use real mayo or miracle whip? I can't wait to try this. I love broccoli salad!!!!

Substitute the honey with stevia, cut out the bacon, use lite mayo, it still has too many calories. Blah and it sounds sooooooo good!

ReplyDeleteWe just had a variation of this tonight. I had broccoli, bacon pieces, chopped onion and peppers, a handful of pumpkin seeds, a few crushed tortilla chips, and some buttermilk light ranch dressing. It was very good and there was actually a discussion on who got to finish it! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the salad! I brought it to my bookclub and they gobbled It down. For me personally, I'm going to cut down on the mayo due to guilt attack; otherwise, I'm making it just like recipe when serving others. Thanks for sharing this no fail recipe! YUM!!!!!!
